I lived through the Thomas fire with destruction like this all around me
and it lasted 23 days. But the ferocity of what happened here was so
fast and complete, there is literally nothing left. It breaks my heart to see and how terrible the things that have happened on that island over the last 70 years. A great deal of unlawful blood was shed there and the ground cried out.
