Yom Kippur (real one) sunset Monday to sunset Tuesday Tishrei 10 UPDATED

The Holy Word tells us that we are to count ten days from the new moon and on the tenth day, to have a day of atonement that begins at sunset, the night before. Behold.

Leviticus 23

27Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto YHVH.

28And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before YHVH your God.

29For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

30And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.

31Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

32It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Atonement - to know of one's sins and failings as a soul and OWN THEM.

Repentance - the honest and heartfelt owning this baggage before the Most High Adonai and making a determination to do and be, better.

Grace - as day follows night, grace comes, covering with the sacrifice of Yeshua on the Cross.

And on that day of Atonement appeared Yeshua at the shore, near the noon hour. He sought John out seeking baptism in the Holy waters of the Jordan River. But, John - who knew whom Yeshua was, the born son of YHVH and his loved cousin - was astounded. "I need to be baptised by you!"

"Let it be so."

And the words of our Holy Father rang in his body, like a tuning fork. "The man whom the spirit descends."

And so it was. The tenth day of Tishrei, all that long ago. To fulfill all righteousness.
