The moonrise will commence along the southeastern horizon at 7:18 p.m. The umbral phase, when Earth’s dark shadow begins its movement across the Moon, is slated for 7:34 p.m.

The eclipse is expected to become visible from the lawn at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles at approximately 8:15 p.m. The Moon will gradually ascend out of the umbra until that phase ends at 10:52 p.m.

A fainter stage of the eclipse will persist until 12:02 a.m. on Friday.
