They are always either casting spells, hexes, curses, you name it. Then there are the blood moon children sacrifices, their favorite.
Why the swinging? Because it terrifies the poor bird beyond words to a frenzied state of TOTAL FEAR. That's what they want - the blood is then charged with fear and Adrenalin.
These are NOT the chosen people. They are the damned among us.
